Prayers for the Abused: Psalm 9:9 "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble."
Dear God, your Son Jesus was abused and oppressed, yet became victorious through your power. Be with all who are victims of abuse of any sort and turn the hearts of the abusers. Break open the prisons of fear and despair, shatter the chains of pain and confusion, and fill these people with your strength to find faith, hope, courage, and wholeness for the future. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer for Anxiety: 1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."
Dear God, the stresses and anxieties of our lives can be overwhelming and exhausting. Pour your Spirit on me and all who are in need of peace and confidence at a time of unknowns. Help me to put my trust in you to guide me through life’s difficulties and to cast my cares onto you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer for Caregivers: Psalm 55:22 "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken."
God of Love, as a caregiver, I need the grace to be loving even when I do not love all that I am asked to do. It is extremely difficult to watch the one I love slowly lose their ability to care for themselves and to witness their pain of illness. More is demanded of my time, and sometimes there just doesn’t seem to be enough of that in the day to tend to all that needs to be done. Help me prioritize my day with being present to (names of care receivers) as I care for his/her needs and wants. Ultimately, at the end of the day when I lay my head on my pillow, I want to say I lived this day with love.
Dear God, we give you special thanks and praise for all those who are working right now to improve the lives of others. Pour your blessings on those providing medical care, those who are caring for family members, those who are searching for healing cures, and all who are making an extra effort to reach out to friends, neighbors and strangers. Fill the hearts of those who serve with compassion and patience and guide the important work they do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer for Graditude: Colossians 3:17 "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
Lord, teach me to offer you a heart of thanksgiving and praise in all my daily experiences of life. Teach me to be joyful always, to pray continually, and to give thanks in all my circumstances. I accept them as Your will for my life. I long to bring pleasure to Your heart daily. Help me to see that in the most difficult of times and circumstances, blessings abound. Amen
Prayer for Hope: Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
Dear God, when we face tough situations, we can fear losing hope. Help me to put my hope and trust in you and your unfailing promises. Give me a renewed vision of all the love you have shown, and strengthen me with the knowledge of your constant presence no matter what. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer for the Moment: Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
We pray for our families, for every relationship most dear to us, that you would guard our time, and our lives together. We ask for your ability to quickly forgive hurts, for a renewed heart of compassion, for love and faithfulness to be evident in every decision and action.
Prayer for the Sick: "Praise the Lord my soul
Be near me in my time of weakness and pain; sustain me by your grace, that my strength and courage may not fail; heal me according to your will; and help me always to believe that what happens to me here is of little account if you hold me in eternal life, my Lord and my God. Amen.
Prayer for Thanksgiving: Thessalonians 5:18 "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Jesus Christ."
Dear God, I thank you for all the blessings in my life, for life itself, for family and friends, for the community of Zion, for all that I have that others in this world may be lacking. Help me to always look to recognize how you watch over me and provide as you see that I need, and let my prayer forever be, “Thy will be done.” In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer for Wholeness: Thessalonians 5:23-24 "May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming at our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and He will do it."
Dear God, the Great Physician, your Son Jesus healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and made the broken whole again. Touch the wounded places in my life, bring relief from any pain, and make me whole in mind, body, and spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer for Unity: Colossians 3:14 "And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."
Dear God, I ask that you fill me and all with your Spirit of love and unity among all across this nation. I ask for your help to set aside my differences and look to the greater cause, the cause of Christ. I ask that you would help me to truly live a life of love. I know that this is only possible through the power of your Spirit, so I pray for your Spirit to move across our land in fresh ways. Turn your people back to you. Draw others to come to know you. Thank you that you are always with us to give us great purpose and hope. Amen
